The film tells the true story of Sophie Scholl and her brother Hans who, in the winter of 1943, joined together with other Munich University students to publish anti-Nazi leaflets and distribute them all over Germany.  When they were caught, they faced the full wrath of the Nazi establishment and the film follows their fate, focusing mainly on Sophie, as they were interrogated, tried and sentenced.  With Julia Jentsch (Sophie), Alexander Held (Mohr) and Fabian Hinrichs (Hans).
